Hello, this is Lee Eun.

Over the years, I've been working and teaching with the iPad, which has allowed me to accumulate the know-how that led me to create these oil texture brushes.

I couldn't find oil brushes with the thick, oily texture I craved, so I decided to make my own.
After years of experimenting and iterating, I developed these brushes, confident that they capture the oil texture better than any other on the market.

✔Lee Eun's Oil Paint Brushes: An Overview

1. Ground Coat Dry Brushes (4 types)

The ground coat is the initial step of roughly applying color. Dry brushes apply the chosen color clearly without mixing colors.

To mimic the use of round and flat brushes, we've made it possible to distinguish between Round and Flat for use.

Additionally, we've incorporated the rough texture of oil painting, enabling you to capture the oil texture even with just the ground coat.

2. Detail & Texture Dry Brushes (5 types)

These brushes are ideal for either detailed work or adding heavy texture.

In contrast, dry brushes allow you to apply the chosen color clearly, without the need for mixing.

Dry thick and dry rough brushes are essential tools for any artist who wants to create detailed drawings.

Dry Brushstroke 1, 2, and 3 are specifically designed to create brushstrokes or achieve a rough texture in oil painting.

These brushes are essential for capturing the distinct feel of a rough oil painting.

3. Ground Coat & Detail Wet Brushes (5 types)

Wet Brush is a blending brush that allows for color mixing.

It is used in oil painting to achieve the characteristic oily texture. Since colors are mixed with this brush, the color expression is weaker compared to dry brushes

Personally, I use them as basic coloring brushes for the ground coat, followed by Wet and Wet Canvas brushes for detailing.

These two types of brushes are not only the most frequently used but also the best at preserving the texture of oil paintings.

4.Texture Wet Brushes (4 types)

Texture Wet Brushes are used for brush strokes or rough expressions in oil paintings.

They are used when you need to achieve a rough oil painting feel and mix various colors.

If the brush pressure is weak,

go to Action > Preferences > Pressure & Smoothing and adjust as shown in the picture below.

5. Blend Brushes (4 types)

You can roughly and texturally blend colors.

These brushes empower you to blend colors with a rough, textured touch. Use them in areas where you want to blend colors seamlessly or soften harsh boundaries, achieving painterly effects without the need for smudge tools.

Unlike typical blending brushes, they retain a distinct brushstroke texture even after blending, allowing you to maintain a rough, expressive oil painting style

6. Canvas & Impasto Brushes (3 types)

Not only the role of the brush but also the texture of the canvas and the shiny varnish (coating) must be applied to achieve a more realistic oil painting feel.

Impasto is used for thick, realistic brush strokes with oil paint.

Q&A

1. Can they be used in other applications?

No, these brushes are only usable in the 'Procreate' app

(not compatible with Clip Studio).

2. Can it only be used for portraits?

No, you can express animals, still life, and landscapes with an oil texture, not just portraits.

3. Is there a recommended canvas size?

We recommend a canvas size of 2000x4000 pixels or A4 size.

4. Can I accept commissions for paintings made with these brushes?

Yes, you can. Artworks created using these brushes can be used commercially. However, modifying and selling the brushes is prohibited.

Reselling the brushes, unauthorized copying, and distribution are strictly prohibited, and legal action can be taken for violations.

5. It seems like the brush is producing weak effects; is there a problem?

The pressure sensitivity is very important for these oil paint brushes. Please use them with the opacity set to 100.

If the pressure sensitivity still feels weak, go to Action > Preferences > Pressure & & Smoothing to increase the pressure sensitivity.

6. It seems like the colors with Wet brushes aren't mixing well.

To mix colors, the colors you want to blend should be on the same layer. If the layers are separate, you must merge them before using the wet brush.

7. Which brush is good for expressing hair or fur?

The Wet Canvas brush works well when used on a smaller scale.
