📖 Watercolor Brush Guidebook (PDF, 25 pages)

✨ Hello, this is artist Lee Eun :)

🎨 For the past 8 years, I’ve explored art through the iPad — from brand collaborations and album art to exhibitions and classes. But my roots lie in traditional mediums like oils, acrylics, and watercolors. That’s why I began creating custom brushes: to capture the soul of real materials in a digital space. Each brush is crafted to bring the warmth and depth of hand-painted art into your iPad canvas.

Perfected over years of artistry and refinement,
these watercolor brushes are built with care and dedication.

Skip the art store and costly supplies—
paint freely anytime, anywhere
with 46 versatile watercolor brushes.

"Recreates the vibrant flow and bleed of watercolor on textured paper."

In watercolor painting, the choice of paper defines the mood of the artwork.
Each type of paper absorbs water differently, creating unique textures and levels of delicacy.
That’s why these brushes were designed to replicate the authentic touch and feel of professional watercolor paper.

That’s why this set was designed by studying real brush forms, carefully recreating their touch and texture for digital art.

In real watercolor painting, the texture of the paper and the amount of water matter far more than the shape of the brush.
Watercolor paper is generally classified into three types depending on its press: rough, cold press, and hot press.

The amount of water you mix determines the depth of color.
Less water creates rich and vivid tones, while more water results in lighter, more diluted effects.
Each brush is named to indicate its level of flow and dilution, making it easy and convenient to choose the right effect while painting.

The lower the water percentage, the deeper the color appears.

Rough press paper has the coarsest texture and produces the strongest bleeding effect.
These brushes were designed to maximize that effect for a true watercolor feel.

In watercolor painting, backgrounds play a key role in expression.
These brushes are designed to capture everything from rough to hot press, and even traditional Hanji silk textures, allowing you to create works with an authentic Asian painting style.

For best results, fill the layer with gray, set the blending mode to Multiply, and place the layer on top of your artwork to effectively preserve the texture.

# Hanji2

Lower the saturation of the watercolor brushes and use the Hanji or Silk background brushes to create works in a traditional Korean painting style.

In digital drawing, textures often fade as you work.
This texture brush lets you easily bring them back—just paint with white, and the watercolor feel is instantly restored.

To recreate the effect of watercolor drops, using a stamp for a splatter look is more effective than painting it by hand.

#Tip
Stamp it, lock the alpha channel, then change the color to create watermarks in a variety of shades.

🎨 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Can I use these brushes in other apps?

No. These brushes are designed exclusively for Procreate. (They will not work in Clip Studio, Photoshop, or other apps.)

2.Do you recommend a specific canvas size?

Yes, we recommend working at 2000–4000px on each side, or an A4 size canvas.

3. Can I take commissions using artworks made with these brushes?

Absolutely!

You are free to use artworks created with these brushes for commercial purposes (commissions, product designs, etc.).

However, modifying, reselling, duplicating, or redistributing the brushes themselves is strictly prohibited, and violations may result in legal action.

4. The brushes feel too light when I use them. Is something wrong?

Not at all — these oil brushes are highly pressure-sensitive.

  • Set Opacity to 100% before use.
  • If it still feels weak, go to Actions > Preferences > Pressure & Smoothing and increase your pressure sensitivity.

5. Are refunds possible?

Due to the nature of digital files, refunds are not available.

Please review the detailed descriptions and sample images carefully before purchasing.

6. What if I lose my files?

Please make sure to back up your files in a personal cloud or external storage.

We are not responsible for file loss after the download period has expired, and re-sending files is not possible.

7. The 3D brushes sometimes show slight color changes with each stroke. Is that normal?

Yes — this is intentional. The brushes are designed to shift in color slightly to enhance 3D depth and realism.

If the depth looks less pronounced, try rotating your canvas 90 degrees and continue painting for a more dimensional effect.
